POWERED SUBARC MAX DEMO
Note: this video details the Powered Subarc Unit.
The Max unit has all the same product features, just a larger footprint.
Greater height and reach capacity.
The Powered SUBARC Max is a heavy-duty portable welding manipulator designed for non-oscillated welding applications, offering the same advanced control features as the standard Powered SUBARC but with a larger footprint to accommodate workpieces up to 10 feet in diameter. It supports submerged arc welding (SUBARC) using pressurized or gravity feed flux systems, as well as cold feed TIG, MIG, solid core, and flux core applications. Like its smaller counterpart, it features powered X and Z axes, a single-hand D-pad control, and integrated wire feed control for streamlined operation. It is also well-suited for cladding in repair applications.
Description:
-
Expanded Capacity: Engineered to handle horizontal workpieces up to 10 feet in diameter, making it ideal for larger tanks, vessels, and structural components.
-
Portability & Stability: Sits on a larger, heavy-duty base with four swivel casters (two locking), providing added stability for larger setups.
-
Adjustability: Maintains nine axes of adjustability for full torch positioning flexibility.
-
Powered Motion Axes:
-
Equipped with motorized X and Z axes for controlled movement.
-
Operated via a single-hand D-pad controller with up/down/left/right movement.
-
Includes a central rapid button for dual-speed control—fast for setup, slow for welding precision.
-
-
Integrated Wire Feed Control: Enables start/stop control of the weld arc from the hand controller, enhancing operator workflow.
-
Compatible Welding Applications:
-
SUBARC welding with gravity feed or pressurized flux systems.
-
Cold feed TIG, optimized for horizontal diameters up to 10 feet.
-
MIG, solid core, and flux core applications, particularly in large-scale horizontal work.
-
Cladding for repair work, where reach and capacity are critical.
-
Best Use Cases:
-
Horizontal SUBARC welding on large tanks, vessels, and structural components up to 10 feet in diameter.
-
Rotational welding on positioners or pipe rolls handling oversized workpieces.
-
Cold feed TIG, MIG, solid core, and flux core wire applications on large horizontal setups.
-
Cladding in repair jobs, especially where larger workpieces require extended reach.
-
Vertical applications remain unrestricted by diameter.
The Powered SUBARC Max delivers the same precision and ease of use as the standard model but is built for larger-scale applications, making it a go-to solution for fabricators working on oversized horizontal weldments that demand powered motion, control integration, and a larger working envelope.
